Your body skin care routine is as important as your facial care routine.
The skin on your body should not be neglected. Paying attention to the skin of your body is very important.
BASIC BODY CARE ROUTINE
As part of your routine for taking care of your body skin, consider some of the steps outlined below. The skin on your body will improve tremendously in the weeks to come.
BODY BRUSH
Use a body brush to brush your skin. You should be brushing all parts of your body including your feet, hands, hips and shoulders.
Choose a body brush that is made from natural bristles. This is an essential part of your body care routine as it will help to exfoliate and tone the skin.
Be gentle as your skin might feel a little tender initially. With continuous use, your skin feels less sensitive over time.
After body brushing, add some bath oils to a warm bath. Soak in it, lie down and just relax.
Again, be gentle. Violent brushing will damage your skin.
EXFOLIATION
Include a weekly exfoliation as part of your body care routine. There are exfoliators designed for use on the body. These contain larger grains compared to facial exfoliators. This is because the skin on the body is tougher. Do your buffing in a sauna or shower. It is easier.
Special attention should be paid to areas of the skin that are more prone to dryness. These will include the elbows, hands, shins, kneels and heels. Do not forget to exfoliate or buff the legs’ skin.
After exfoliating, splash your skin with warm followed by cool water intermittently. This will help to boost blood circulation and improve skin tone.
MOISTURIZING
Just like your facial skin care routine, moisturizing is an essential step of your body care routine. The oil in these moisturizers is very nourishing, in particular dry skin.
Pay special attention to areas such as the upper arms, elbows, hips, shins and knees. These areas are particularly prone to dryness. During the winter, the cold weather removes natural moisture from the skin.
Apply moisturizer to the skin when it is slightly damp and warm body. The moisturizing creams will be absorbed into the body’s skin more quickly.
