While bathing or showering, give your body some special treats as you cleanse it. It is the best opportunity to polish and pamper your skin. Here are some of bath time treats that you should try on a regularly.
BODY OILS AND LOTIONS Body Oils and body lotions help to seal the moisture in your skin. This will help to make the skin smooth and soft. Concentrate on the drier spots such as your feet, your elbows and your knees. Even skin that is oily or normal can benefit from body lotions too. Oils and body creams are more suitable for drier skins.
Choose a body lotion that has alpha-hydroxy acids. It will smooth your entire body and that includes your hands, arms, feet, and legs. For really tough and dry spots, apply a really generous amount of lotion before going to bed. Let the lotion soak it in as you sleep. What a superb body treatment!
EXFOLIATING SCRUBS Exfoliating scrubs do help to combat persistent blackheads and smoothen rough patches. Indulge yourself with this body treatment weekly or bi-weekly. You could do it yourself while in bath or showering. Use warm water to rinse away any excess.

PUMICE STONE
Pumice stones are made from volcanic rocks that are very porous. They are a great body treatment for those hardened areas of the skin.
Lather up the hardened areas with soap. Rub the affected areas of the skin with the pumice stone. Use circular motions. Do not rub too hard or else the skin will feel sore. Just a little of this body treatment each time and doing it frequently is best.
BACK BRUSHES AND LOOFAHS Long loofahs or back brushes can be used as exfoliators. Their length helps you to clean the areas that are hard to reach. You can now give your back a good scrub. Using back brushes or loofahs regularly is more than indulgent body treatments. It is a necessary part of the body cleansing routine.
Loofahs are the dried fibrous part of the fruit of a plant of the genus. They are harder to take care as they were once living things. Treated with care and they will last. After use, rinse them and drain thoroughly. This will prevent them from becoming mouldy and black. Do not rinse them in lemon juice or vinegar. This is too harsh and will damage them. Remember that these were once living things.
It is easier to take care of back brushes. After use, rinse them with cool water and hang them up to dry.

One popular way of relaxation is to soak in a warm bath.
While having a bath, treat yourself to some aromatherapy. After running your bath water, add some essential oils to your bath water, a few drops will do. Lie back, close your eyes, inhale the vapors and relax. You could use lavender and chamomile.
Bubble baths and salts are great for relaxation too. They contain kelp and sea minerals that not only have a purifying effect on skin but help you to relax too.
After running your bath water, just add some bubble bath or salt to it.
To enhance the relaxing atmosphere, you could take your bath by candlelight while listening to some soothing music.
Use eye pads, it will help you to relax. Do it for about 10 minutes.
MONEY SAVING TIP Body treatments do not have to be expensive. You don’t have to splurge on expensive bath additives. Try making your own. Here are some ingredients that can be readily found in your kitchen. Just add a cupful to running water.
- Cider vinegar can help to soothe irritated skin
- Powdered milk can help to smoothen rough skin
- Bran or oatmeal can help to soothe and cleanse your skin. It has some whitening effects on the skin too.
Do you want to have sleek skin? Try the following:
- Apply some body oil on your body.
- Soak in the bath for about 10 minutes
- Rub your skin with a soft washcloth. This actually helps to remove dead skin.
After your bath, pat yourself dry if you want to unwind. Rub yourself briskly with a towel in invigorate you.
SHOWER TIME TREATS Showers help you to clean your body cheaply and quickly. It will also wake you up.
To help improve your circulation, finish off your shower with cold water. If you have cellulite-prone skin, blasts some cold water on these areas, it will also help to improve the circulation in these areas.
