Here we are going to look at the different ways to get rid of cellulite?
CELLULITE TREATMENT OPTION #1
CELLULITE CREAMS
The most cost effective and easiest way to treat cellulite is to use cellulite creams and lotions. These creams have been touted to stimulate and promote cell circulation, remove toxins and fluid and burns fat.
Not everybody is convinced that cellulite creams are effective. However there are some cellulite creams that are more effective than other. One of the key ingredients is methylxanthines which is really a form of caffeine.
Studies done have found that methylxanthine is effective in reducing fat cells.
The caffeine in the creams works by removing fluids from the cells and stimulates lipolysis which is essentially fat burning. This happens in the layer of skin just below the surface.
CELLULITE TREATMENT OPTION #2
DIET AND EXERCISE
A healthy diet will not build fats and toxins. Diets rich in fibre will help the body to dispel waste materials and get rid of toxins. Food that is rich in nutrients will help the cell membranes to strengthen, improve circulation and prevent fats from moving to the skin surface.
Exercise will help to improve the body’s blood circulation and remove any excess fat from the body.
CELLULITE TREATMENT OPTION #3
IMPROVE YOUR BLOOD CIRCULATION
Here are a few ways to improve your blood circulation as well as the lymphatic system. Choose one of these methods and do for at least 5 minutes every day.
Massage your skin by using a glove or a rough sisal mitt designed for this purpose. This will provide stimulation to your skin.
Use a body brush to massage your skin. Choose a soft one. You can do it on either damp or dry skin. Use long and sweeping movements to brush over the affected areas. Move the brush upwards towards the heart.
CELLULITE TREATMENT OPTION #4
LIGHT DEVICES
How do light devices treat cellulite? Light energy is used to melt away cellulite. The skin is then mechanically massaged to increase blood circulation and to help in the removal of fluids from the lymph vessels.
TriActive, one of those light devices approved by the FDA, uses laser light. It reduces the problem of cellulite by using the combined efforts of massage and lasers.
A localised cooling system which cools down the skin. This is to enable the laser penetrate deep into the skin without doing harm to the uppermost layer of the skin.
There are six laser diodes which helps to stimulate microcirculation
A rhythmical, mechanical massage breaks up connective tissue or fatty deposits.
In studies done, the TriActive laser has been able to remove cellulite from up to 83% of the patients. A follow-up done over the next 3 months with the patients showed that the effect was lasting. The TriActive laser is a non-medical device. It is probably available at either your local doctor's or a skin care centre.
There is another light device, called VelaSmooth which has also obtain approval from the FDA. It uses both infrared light and radio frequency energy to heat up the cellulite and subsequently release them from cells. Simultaneously, the machine rolls over the skin, massaging it. It also uses suction to soften and release septa bands. VelaSmooth has been classified as a medical device as it emits a high level of energy. Treatments are only available through a doctor.
Cellulite treatments using light devices do not come cheap. Check out with your doctor or nearest skin care centre if you are interested.
Endermologie is a deep mechanical, high-tech massage procedure. It uses a combination of suction and cylindrical rollers to soften the skin's connective tissue, stimulate blood flow and lymphatic drainage, and trigger the body's natural system for eliminating fat from cells.
While the procedure has a visible impact on cellulite, it is only temporary.
CELLULITE TREATMENT OPTION #6
MESOTHERAPY
Of all the cellulite treatments, mesotherapy proves to be one of the most controversialaround. It was first developed in France during the 1950s. It combines a mixture of off-label medicines with herbs and vitamins.
Caution is advised on the use of this treatment and concerns have been raised:
The safety of the drugs when used in the injected cocktails.
The power of the drugs to dissolve cellulite is being questioned.
What happens to the fat when it is melted. Will it end up in the liver?
