There are just too many skin care products in the market. Trying to choose your skin care products to use is so difficult these days.
Are you having difficulty making up your mind? Well, here is a nifty little tool to help you along.
Choose It! from SiteSell was originally created to help online website owners in their decision making. However, there is nothing to stop you from using it to make other life’s decisions. After all it is free and you can use as many times as you like.
So, what are we waiting for? Let’s give this little cool tool a whirl.
STEP #1: Ask the Right Question
Take for example, you are trying to make up your mind on the purchase of a facial cleanser. So start by asking the question,
”Which facial cleanser should I buy?”
STEP #2: List your possible answers to the question
Step #2 is to list your possible answers to the question. You can list as many answers as you like. However, three to five is an optimum number. For example, the following could be your possible answers:
SkinMedica Facial Cleanser - 8 oz is a gentle foaming cleanser enriched with Botanical Extracts that thoroughly removes environmental pollutants, excess oils and make-up, leaving the skin clean and prepared for the subsequent treatment steps. Price - US$26. **
MD Formulations Facial Cleanser Oily & Problem Prone Skin - 8.3 oz is a rich, lathering daily cleanser. It thoroughly cleanses and clarifies oily and problem-prone skin. It contains Glycolic Compound to gently exfoliate surface skin cells to reveal softer, smoother and younger-looking skin. Price – US$32 **

** Prices listed as of 16 May 2006.
STEP #3: List what is important to you
Step #3 is to list what is important to you. The score how important it is to you on a scale of 1 – 100.
To continue with our example, these are the important factors that I would consider when choosing a facial cleanser and how I score them.
Skin Type
This is the most important factor when choosing a facial cleanser and should be rated as 100. I will definitely take my dry, sensitive skin into consideration when making my choice.
Cost
This is the next most important factor as I am on a tight budget. I will rate this as 90.
Foaming or Cream
I prefer a cream facial cleanser but a foaming cleanser that is suitable for dry skin works just as well. I will rate this as 70.
STEP #4: Score each possible answer
Next, on a scale of 1 – 100, score your possible answers according to how well each possible answer fulfills the requirements of each factor.
Table below shows the result of the scoring.
Possible Answers

This is how I did the scoring:
The product that is specially formulated for dry, sensitive scores 100 for skin type. Those formulated for all skin types scores 70 and those not formulated for dry skin scores 10.
Obviously those with a lower price have a higher score.
Cream cleansers scores 100 while foaming cleanser scores 70.
STEP #5: The Result
